Hip Hop Hope

CATHERINE AYANO NIXON

Midsummer calls

Says stroll to the park

And bring along that

Bag of art

Drawn by the sounds

Beat of the drum

Boom of the bass

Singer step stomping

Along

Reaching out to the crowd

Hips swaying

Calling back aloud

Graffiti rainbow spraying

Children run playing

See me

Hop across the water

Leaping stone to stone

Hope watching

I lose myself

In lines of light and

Melody moves of many

Gathered here

Creating heaven for a day

Oh

Make it stay
