What happens when someone’s passion for the word, for storytelling, and for community melds into a fantastic idea that yields an awe-inspiring reality? The Saint Paul Almanac happens. This culminated into our Volume 10 – A Ten-Year Retrospective – which included previously published works that moved us to reflect on momentous and ordinary times, events, and places that writers and artists have depicted in the Almanac over the years. As in the past, the community editors of this edition did the challenging work of choosing pieces from previous editions to produce another book worthy of our readers’ time. We hope you enjoy reflecting upon the previous ten years with us through the selections featured.

Adam Luebke grew up in southern Minnesota and moved to Saint Paul to attend William Mitchell College of Law. While there, he married and the couple continues to reside in Saint Paul. Adam served on the Almanac’s board of directors.

Stewart Stone moved to the Mac-Groveland neighborhood in 1998. He is happily still there, now accompanied by his wife, three boys, and a dog. He is often found near the Mississippi River as a guide for Wilderness Inquiry or
on the tennis courts that dot
